Ioannis Trampantzis left Siatista when he was 7 years old. He lived in Romania, where he made a big fortune as a trader. In August 1887 he donated 200.000 francs to the Community of Siatista. Thanks to this donation there built the famous Trampantzio Gymnasium in 1888. 
During the following year a patriarchal bulla (a charte) was signed for the organization and educational operation of Siatistas’ Trampanzio Gymnasium.Not only he donate money for the construction of the Gymnasium but he also donated money for the payment of the teachers and the operational costs of the School. Furthermore, he sponsored Stefanos Rossis’  book entitled “Handbook of Paedagogics”, which would assist the teachers in fulfilling more successfully their educational tasks.
